Condolence: Carolyn Howell was a beautiful and elegant lady! We met her when our son, Chris, married Carolyn's niece, Ashley, in 1999. Our thoughts and prayers are with Janet - a lovely and devoted daughter! Although. We never met Janet's sister, we shall remember her in our prayers as well. Carolyn was a real southern lady who knew how to throw a lovely tea party! She will be missed by many, and I have no doubt she was a great asset to the education system in Louisiana. May God bless you, Janet, with precious memories of your sweet mother, and may you be comforted knowing you will see her again in Heaven one day!

Condolence: Mrs Howell was by far one of my favorite teachers - ever. She was kind and gentle, but could get a stern look if we got too out of line. She was always encouraging and you knew she wasn't there just to earn a check. I've never met her daughters, but I feel I know them about how she talked about them in class. It was obvious she loved them and was so very proud of them. I got to see her not too many years ago at my Aunt's 90th birthday party. We laughed because she was trying to figure out why I was at her good friend's party. I told her I was trying to figure out why she was at my Aunt Lula's party! LOL! We had a good visit and it was nice catching up with her. I'll never forget my 6th grade year at Paradise Elementary and all I learned through her.

My condolences to you, her family, because you will miss her dearly. She was heaven's gain and your loss. Cry over the loss but know she's there with her Lord and as happy as ever!

Condolence: I'm So sorry to hear about Mrs Howell. She was by far my favorite teacher throughout all my years of school. And I saw her several times in years after I grew up and always told her that. I broke my arm and was out some of my 6th grade year and she ao patiently helped me catch up. She was that one teacher in every kid's life that makes the most awesome impression. i lost my own mother amost exactly one year ago and no matter your age your mother is one in a million. I will be praying for your family.

Condolence: My parents, Jewell and Wanda Jackson, were neighbors of Carolyn for many years. She was a very sweet lady and mom thought the world of her (she died in '99 and daddy in '01). I live in West Monroe now but we still pass by the old house when we visit and notice the "Howell" sign at the end of her drive. Please know you are in my prayers during this difficult time.
