The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Nikolai Alexandrenko can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: I was a student under Dr. Nick as we fondly called him at Louisiana College. He worked very hard to teach me to read and write Greek. I believe he passed me with a "D" just so I wouldn't be back in his class the next year. Ha. I also worked as a secretary under him and the other Religion Professors in the Religion Dept. Dr. Nick was a very kind, thoughtful, man. I loved visiting with him and hearing about his life history. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. I pray for the family that they will be blessed by God with comfort and peace during this difficult time, but also reflect in the future on the many fond, loving memories of Dr. Nick.
Sincerely,
Karen Coulter Ball

Condolence: Dr. "Nick" was a remarkable Christian man with a unique life story. He and my Father were close friends. I took Russian history at L.C. simply because Dr. Nick was teaching it. What a marvelous intellect and sense of humor he had! God had a purpose for Dr. Nick and all of us who spent time with him were blessed.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Nick's passing. As a former Latin student of Dr. Nick's it was my honor to learn from such a great man. I heard his powerful testimony at LC and shared it over the years with others. A devoted disciple of Christ is now in the presence of God. "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Thank you, Dr. Nick!

Condolence From: Odessa Theological Seminary, Ukraine
Condolence: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” 2 Tim 4:7
Dear family and friends of Dr Nick,
On behalf of Odessa Theological Seminary family please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of your father and friend. We live in another part of the world, yet it is a big loss for us, too. Dr Nick was the person who took active part in founding our seminary. Apart from being a great professor, he had a nature that inspired respect and affection in everyone who would come across him. People who knew him personally would fall in love with him. Although he experienced many hardships in his life, he always was a very warm and easy person. Dr Nick is an example for us of a faithful and devoted Christian who lived his believes. Looking at Dr Nick’s life we see that he became who God had called him to be, he fulfilled his mission and his life matched God’s vision about him. Now it is time of sorrow for people who loved him. Yet we also rejoice at the powerful life of Dr Nick. We are honored that God gave us chance to get to know him.
Let us seek comfort in hope that one day the Lord whom we believe and whom Dr Nick served would gather us together in better place. May the Lord send His peace in your hearts and comfort you as He alone can do it.
On behalf of seminary students, faculty and staff,
Volodymyr Shemchyshyn, Vice-President of OTS, Head of the Board of Trustees of OTS
Vladimir Pomazkov, President of OTS

Condolence: Belinda and Family,
So, so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. As one of his Latin students at L.C. who was fortunate enough to have him as a prof for four semesters, I cannot tell you how honored I feel for having been able to spend time getting to know him. (I will quickly admit that my Latin skills pale in comparison to my enjoyment of hearing his life stories which he always concluded with the aura of grace and gratitude for discovering a new life in the U.S.) He was truly a prince of a man and I along with many others are blessed for having been fortunate enough to call him both a friend and inspiration.
