Funeral services for Mrs. Rita Iris Dow will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Rev. David Kimsey officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Chapel Cemetery, Williana, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dow, age 73, of Williana, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Tioga Community Care Center, Tioga, Louisiana.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Dow loved her family and enjoyed sewing and crocheting
She is preceded in death by her parents, Columbus and Aleza Murphy; and two sisters, Gladys Roller and Louise Johnson.
Mrs. Dow is survived by her husband, Charles D. Dow of Williana, La.; a daughter, Sheila Franks (Steve) of Calvin, La.; four brothers, Henry and Buddy Murphy of West Monroe, La and Weezey and Joe Murphy, Sr. of Eros, La.; two sisters, Sue Jones and Nita Kiever of West Monroe; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
