Funeral services for Mrs. Melva Holloway Poston will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Roland George officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mrs. Poston, age 84, of Pineville, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at her granddaughters residence.

Melva was one of a kind and she was always happy. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. When she met someone and they would ask her what to call her, she would say “just call me Grandma”. She loved meeting new people and socializing with everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harvey Benton Poston; one son, Charles Poston; three daughters, Edna Johnson, Sharron Duncan and Tina Poston; two brothers; two sisters.

She is survived by four daughters, Sandra Davidson of Dickson, Tennessee, Shirley George (Roland) of Lena, Cindy Ellcey (Fredrick) of Dry Prong, Karen Lachney (Gary) of Pineville; twenty six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Langston, Gary Lachney, Jason Lachney, Lee Poston, Stephen Hicks, Marshall McCann, David Poston, Roger George; honorary pallbearers, T.K. Davidson, Jerry George, Ronnie Poston, Kerry Davidson, Timmy Toler and Mike Poston.

Friends may call on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
