Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Ray “Jim” French, Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with the Bishop David Roberts officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. French, age 70, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Rapides Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Jim retired from the Alexandria Police Department after serving for several years. Prior to joining the APD, Jim worked for Gulf Oil Chemical Company. Mr. French lived for his family...especially for his grandchildren! He coached Dixie Youth at Ward 10 for several years, loved to cook for his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jim will be missed by many friends, family and especially his “Friends in crime”, C.J. Normand and Paul Pomes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James French, Irene and Elge Jeansonne, Jr.

Mr. French is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kaye Dunbar French of Pineville; two sons, Jimmy French, Jr. of Pineville and Sean French (Amy) of Poland, La; three sisters Barbara Ann Cain (Thomas) of Latanier, Imogene Martin and Mary Beauchamp both of Maryland; three brothers, Jimmie French (Vicki), James French and Michael French all of Maryland; four Grandchildren, Taylor, Parker, Madison and Abbigail French.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
