Obituary for Iris Jean Smith (Ratcliff)
Funeral services for Mr. Iris R. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Rev. Michael Gates officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Esler Field Community, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, LA.
Mrs. Smith, age 81, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 17, 2016 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, Louisiana.
Iris was a nurse for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Smith; parents, Lovey and Laura Maxine Ratcliff; brothers, Bill and Tom Ratcliff.
She is survived by two sons, Billy Smith (Bonnie) of Pineville and David Smith of Pineville; one daughter, Patricia “Trish” Smith of Pineville; one sister, Dorothy Boyd of Pineville; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wes Head, Chris Davison, Brandon Dunnam, Craig Stites.
Friends may call at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, May 20, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until time of services.
