Funeral services with military rights for Mr. Barney C. Copeland, Jr., will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2015 in the chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, LA with the Reverend David Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, LA under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, LA.

Mr. Barney C. Copeland, Jr., age 86, of Alexandria, LA entered eternal rest on Friday, September 11, 2015 at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA.

Mr. Copeland served his country as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years. He was a veteran of WWII, Vietnam and the Korean Conflict. After retiring from the military, Mr. Copeland worked as a Crew Chief for International Paper Company in Pineville. He retired from International Paper Company after 23 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Estelle Copeland; his first wife and mother of his two daughters, Mary Phillips Copeland; one brother; and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patsy A. Copeland of Alexandria, LA; two step-sons, John D. Garner (Tina) of Petal, MS and Robert W. Garner, Jr. (Vicky) of Colfax, LA; two daughters, Carolyn Pilgrim of Dry Prong and Susan White (Todd) of Ball; three step-daughters, Sissy Jeansonne (Rodney) of Dry Prong, LA, Mary Money of West Virginia and Judy D. Arnold (Lynn); a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; his favorite dog “Princess”; and cat, “Tinker Link”.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to their step-daughter, Sissy Jeansonne, for her care and compassion of Mr. Copeland over the last few years.
