Memorial services for Mr. John L. Butler will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Jena Church of Christ, 1251 E. Oak St., Jena, Louisiana 71342 with Reverend John Barker officiating. Inurnment will be in Belah Cemetery, Jena, Louisiana under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Butler, age 65, of Jena, entered eternal rest on Monday, August 1, 2016 at LaSalle General Hospital, Jena, Louisiana.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He worked in the Oil Fields of East Texas and also as a carpenter. John was a member of Jena Church of Christ.

He is survived by his son, Adam S. Butler of Olla; three brothers, Wayne Butler of Jena, Edwin L. Butler of Udall, Kansas, Parvin W. Butler (Norma Jean) of Newton, Texas; one sister, Betty Westbrooks (John F) of Jena; one aunt, Joyce Thompson of Jena; two granddaughters, Kailey and Bella Butler of Olla.
