She was a workmate.
Irmgard began working at Baptist Hospital near the time I worked there. She was the cashier, and I was the admitting clerk on the same shift ( 3 - 11).
She was a diligent person, and very efficient in her position. She was pleasant and always on an even keel.
One evening a man went to her window looking for drectioins. She must have detected his German accent, and asked him some questions. He had just returned from visitng in Germany, and when she asked the name of his town it was the same as hers in Germany. The knew many of the same people, and discussed various businesses, and some chages which had been made after she left Germany.
I worked at Baptist Hospital from1957-59, and when I left for graduate school was the last time I saw her. I have hought of her through the years but had no idea where she was located.
Her obit brought back many pleasant memories for me. The family will surely miss her, but I am grateful that I had an opportunity to know her even though it was almost 55 years ago.
