He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy from December 7, 1941 until May 12, 1945. He was aboard the Ship USS New Orleans docked at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. He was truly blessed to be one of the survivors. After his working years, he thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Bashrum; four daughters, Brenda Hall, Beth Foster and husband Frankie, Vicki White and husband Rickey and Cindy Monk and husband, Richard; one sister, Ethel Fannett; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks and appreciation to the entire staff at the Community Living Center at the V.A. Medical Center, for their special and loving care given by them to our loved one during his years there. We were truly blessed by the Lord to have him in their care. We love you all.
