Funeral services for Mr. Michael McCartney will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with the Reverends Carl Wheatley and Gene Decker officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Pineville, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. McCartney, age 28, of Pineville, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, Louisiana.

Michael served in the Louisiana National Guard. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed fishing, shooting his firearms and camping outdoors. He loved cooking and baking. He loved his mother-in-laws cooking most of all. He was a big supporter of veterans.

He liked to read and was honored to serve his country and he was very patriotic.

He is survived his wife, Justina Hanes McCartney of Pineville; father, Lanty McCartney of Colorado; mother, Bobbie Jean McCartney of Virginia; two sons, Calvin Dane McCartney of Pineville and Samuel Jude McCartney on the way; one daughter, Jamie Jean Newell; one brother, Christopher Ryan McCartney of Maryland; one sister, Denver Ryan McCartney of Boston, Massachusetts.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
