Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and teacher, Jerome Franklin Bush, 64, of Quitman, Louisiana, died Friday, August 26, 2016, at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. A celebration of his life and scattering of ashes will be held at the beach in Biloxi the weekend of September 17, 2016.

Jerome was born March 22, 1952, in Kerrville, Texas, to Ellus Franklin Bush and Mary Ida Shirley Bush Maxwell.

He was a longtime elementary school teacher, known for his lively and attractive classroom; a dedicated member of Fellowship Baptist Church; and a talented musician and singer. He earned his teaching degree at Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana, where he was in LC’s prestigious jazz ensemble. He is a graduate of Buckeye where he was in the band throughout high school.

He had a vast knowledge and appreciation for a wide variety of music, but especially for the 1960’s artist like the Beatles and Yes. He also loved gospel and often performed at church. He was a talented calligrapher, but especially well-known for his great sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellus Franklin Bush and Mary Ida Bush Maxwell; Autumn’s mother, Rhonda Lynn Ducker Harbin; sister, Geraldine Bush Lee; niece, Kamii Paulk Dauzat; niece-in-law, Anita Paulk; father and mother-in-law, John Carl Chaudoir and Zettie Louise Chaudoir; sister-in-law, Melissa Marie Chaudoir.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Chaudoir Bush of 39 years; son, Dell Franklin Bush; two daughters, Autumn Kerensa Bush Altamirano (David) of Statesboro, Georgia and Arwen Danelle Bush Robertson (James) of Ruston, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Elias Rolando, Caitlin Jade, Alice Marie, Emily Christine, Winter Rose, Liliana Vale and Daniel Constantine; three sisters, Ada Kathleen Bush Paulk of Deville, Mary Irene Bush Sullivan of Doyline, Louisiana, and Darlene Annette Bush Tucker of Winnfield, Louisiana; brother-in-law, William Chaudoir (Linda); nieces and nephews, Kurtis Paulk, Kerry Paulk, Kristina Paulk Hickman, Michael Sullivan, Scott Sullivan, Suzanne Sullivan Wilson, Chet Tucker, Deann Tucker, Johnny Tucker, Michael Chaudoir and Marc Chaudoir.
