Obituary for David M Thompson
Funeral services for Mr. David M. Thompson will be held at 10:00 a.m. on
Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Tom Hamilton officiating. Interment will be in Lone Pine Cemetery, Bentley, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.
Mr. Thompson, age 73, of Colfax, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness.
David served 4 years in the USAF Fire Service, 23 years Civil Service at England AFB Fire Department, 4 years for the Town of Colfax and 15 years as the Wastewater Plant Operator for the Town of Pollock. He was a lifetime member of the Louisiana State Fireman’s Association and loved cooking, gardening, woodworking, and people.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.N. and Odessa Barker Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joyce Thompson of Colfax; five children, Tina R. Adcock of Shreveport, Debbie S. Dowings (Steve) of Shreveport, Michael Thompson (Dawn) of Pollock; two step-daughters, Tricia A. Aaron of Baton Rouge and Tonya Aaron of Tioga; one brother, Willie Ray Thompson of Colfax; three sisters, Ruth Jones of Colfax, Terrie Brister (Martin) of Dry Prong and Donna Thompson of Alexandria; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice for all their support.
