Obituary for Linda Burleigh (Landry)

Linda  Burleigh (Landry)
Ms. Linda Landry Burleigh, age 61, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday July 6, 2016 at Willis Knighten Hospital in Shreveport as the result of a long illness.

Linda was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on August 10. 1954. She was the second child of Hanson Joe Landry and Lola Bordelon. She enjoyed flower gardening and holidays with her family. She drove 18 wheeler trucks for many years which allowed her to see most of the country. During her later years she was a newspaper distributor in the Pineville area for the Alexandria Town Talk and was personally known and loved by many of her customers for her willingness to go above and beyond to serve them.

She is preceded in death by her biological father, Hanson Joe Landry and her stepfather, Burton Anthony Bordelon, grandparents Joe and Arizona Brossett, two maternal aunts Ann Bradford and Lois Johnson, and four maternal uncles, Ernest Brossett, Joe Dewey Brossett, Roy Brossett, and Joe Nathan Brossett.

She is survived by her loving children Kim Lea Goyne of Shreveport and Clint Duane Burleigh of Lafayette, mother Lola Bordelon of Ball, brother Larry Landry of Pineville, and two sisters, Burta McDaniel (Gary) of Pineville and Annette Arthur (Theodore) of Prairieville, and Aunt Mildred Dubroc (UL) of Ball and also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place for Linda Landry Burleigh at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana Friday, July 15, 2016 with fellowship beginning at 5:00 P.M. followed by the service at 6:00 P.M. with Bishop David Roberts officiating.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at both CHRISTUS St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria and Willis Knighten Hospital in Shreveport who both provided care for Linda while she fought for her life.
