Life Story for Donald Alan Mertens
Donald Alan “Duck” Mertens
Visitation and a time of remembrance for Donald Alan “Duck” Mertens will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana.
Mr. Mertens, age 59, of Georgetown, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his residence.
Donald “Duck” Mertens was a native of Boyce and owned and operated Fast Stop Liquor Store in Boyce, La. for 10 years. He was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Boyce. Duck enjoyed gardening and flowers especially Hibiscus, fishing and he had a great sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaston and Bessie Mae Mertens.
Mr. Mertens is survived by one brother, John Raymond Mertens; one sister, Mary Anne Mertens; four legged fur babies, Ms. Boobite and One Dog; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The Family would like to say a Special Thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and an Extra Special Thanks to Dr. Michael Madden and wife Judy.
