Funeral services for Mr. Walter “Claude” Hinton, III will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Highway 1 Church Of God, Lena, Louisiana with Rev. Lane Fletcher officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Colfax, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, LA.

Mr. Hinton, age 61, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 27, 2016 at his residence in Pineville, Louisiana.

Claude worked offshore for over 41 years starting his career as a roustabout, driller, tool pusher and finally consultant. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Claude enjoyed playing chess, golfing, tennis, baseball and admiring sunsets.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Inez Hinton, Jr. and his brother, Rothen Hinton.

Claude is survived by his wife, Sandra Dove Hinton of Pineville, LA; two sons, Michael Hinton of Pineville, and Clayton Hinton of Bossier City, LA; four daughters, Melissa Hinton-Broussard (Neal) of Hineston, Amy Hinton of Lafayette, Crystal Foreman (Michael) and Lisa Smith both of Pineville, LA.; seven grandchildren and numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lane Fletcher or Lisa Hinton to help offset funeral expenses.


Friends may call at Highway 1 Church of God, Lena, Louisiana on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until time of services.
