Obituary for Melinda Renee Courts (Daniel)
Funeral services for Melinda Renee Daniel Courts will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Centerpoint Pentecostal Church, Centerpoint, Louisiana with the Reverends Randy O. Harper and Bobby Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Effie, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.
Melinda Renee Daniel Courts, 53, passed from this life on Sunday, the 10th of January, at her home in St. Francisville.
Born April 10th 1962 in Alexandria, LA., she was the third of five children to Rev. Robert Daniel Sr., and Nelda Raye Bryant Daniel. Melinda, along with her brothers, formed the Daniel Family Singers and would accompany their father on the evangelistic field. Melinda would play the piano, sing and loved using her abilities for the Lord. Melinda was the top graduate of the Licensed Practical Nurses program during her junior year of high school. Her nursing career spanned over 25 years. She later obtained her license as a registered nurse and worked at the Angola State Penitentiary for many years in a variety of capacities and it was there she met her husband, of 30 years, Don Courts.
Melinda is preceded in death by her husband, Don Courts, her father Rev. Robert L. Daniel Jr., and her mother, Nelda Raye Bryant Daniel.
Those left to cherish Melinda’s memory are a daughter, Ashlyn Courts; a daughter in spirit, Alex Badone (daughter Savannah); a son of the heart, Chad Vittoria; step daughters, Rachel Wheeler, Renne Ratcliff, Dawn Bearb, and Kimberly Breedlove; brothers, Rev. Robert Daniel Jr. (Mitzie), Geoffrey Daniel (Donna), Darrell Daniel (Melissa); sister Kathren Miller (Stan) and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robby Daniel, Morgan Daniel, Keith Daniel, Jarryd Raynes, Chris Daniel and Todd Daniel. Honorary pallbearers will be Taylor Daniel and Joshua House.
Friends may call at Centerpoint Pentecostal Church, Centerpoint, Louisiana on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
