Funeral services for Myrtle Harper will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel, Ball, Louisiana. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, LA. under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harper, of Houston, TX, formerly of Alexandria, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Houston, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Joe and Lilly Ross in D’Lo, Mississippi.

Mrs. Harper enjoyed singing in the choir as a member of Calvary and Parkview Baptist Churches. She enjoyed the youth of both churches and going places with them. Mrs. Harper lived in the Alexandria area for many years and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. W.A. Ardoin. She specially enjoyed her yard and home and entertaining friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or Shriners Hospital in her memory.

Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, T. O. “Pete” Harper. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, five sisters and a granddaughter.

Mrs. Harper is survived by two daughters, Judy Jones (Jimmy) of Houston, Tx and Kaye Campbell (DeWayne) of Littleton, CO; one sister, Lillian Dowling of St. John, Indiana; sister in law, Madeline Ross of Stockton, CA; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and a very special niece and nephew, Betty and Curtis Butler of Forest,

Friends may call at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, LA on Tuesday December 1, 2015 from noon until service time.
