How I met Dixie

I met Dixie when she and her family moved to Abbeville, LA.  Dixie was a beautiful, smart and funny girl and I liked her right off.  We became good friends and stayed close to her and her family.  She married and had children and our lives parted, but we remained good friends.

Dixie had an illness that few people understand and was sometimes hard for me to understand, but love is unconditoninal and we accept people for who they are, not what they become.  I simply loved Dixie for who she was, a caring, loving individual who could make you laugh and make you cry.

I will miss Dixie as I have for sometime now, as she was not herself, the illness she had took over her mind.  The memories we shared will always be in my mind and she will always be in my heart.  The beautiful blonde cornsilk hair girl with the bluest eyes and the smile that could light up a room and make you laugh till you cried.  She is at peace now, all healed and free to be the loving spirit she was created to be.

My condolances to her family at the loss of this beautiful girl taken too soon by an illness. My prayers go out to her family and I ask God to help and console them in this time of loss. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel and her name is Dixie.

God Bless!

Love,

Lucy Scalisi
