William Thomas “Mitch” Mitchell, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. William “Mitch” Mitchell, Jr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel, Ball, LA with the Reverend’s Leland Briggs and Bruce Maxwell officiating. Interment will be in Restland Memorial Park, Pollock, LA under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, LA.

Mr. Mitchell, age 76, of Pollock, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 25, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.


Mr. Mitchell was a member of Bentley United Pentecostal Church. He was a Machinist instructor working for the Vocational Technical School in Alexandria for many years. He also worked for Dresser Industries as a machinist.

“Mitch” was a reserve Grant Parish Deputy for over 35 years and never met a stranger. He loved his family and his community.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel Mitchell, Sr. and a son, Billy Ray Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Leslie A. Mitchell of Pollock; two daughters, Lisa Annette Rowzee (Ricky Lynn) and Leticia Chalet Byrd (Paul) all of Pollock; one brother, Robert Gerald Mitchell, Sr. of Pollock and two sisters, Estelle Green (R B) of Rayville and Rose Marie Stokes of Rayville, LA. Eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of friends.
