Home going services for Mrs. Dora L. Morace Parker will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with the Rev. Terry Shock, Sister Vesta Mangun and Rev. Dennis Brown officiating. Interment will be at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mrs. Parker, age 76, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at LaSalle Nursing Home in Jena, Louisiana.

Dora was a member of the Pentecostals of Alexandria. She possessed a kind and tender heart. Grace, elegance and her unique fashion style will be cherished by those left, and will be remembered fondly, finding comfort by simply smiling and recalling “MawMaw Dora” would love this. She was a loving mother and best friend to all of her children. She will be missed by many family and friends. She was affectionately known as “MawMaw Dora” to all of her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Parker; parents, Mose and Lonnie Morace; one daughter, Lorie Ann Phillips; one brother; four sisters

She is survived by two sons, Charles Errick Parker and his wife Brooke Chaney of Boyce, Terry Don and Anthony Hernandez of Houston; one daughter, Laura and her husband Paul Breaux of New Iberia; one brother, Wallace Morace and his wife Diane of Franklinton, La.; two sisters, Lillian Moore of Aimwell and Louise Smith of Natchez, MS; grandchildren, twins: Erricka Parker and her husband, Daniel Forrest, Leanndra Parker and fiancé, Marcus Braud, Larhonda Champaign, Justin Franklin, Derrick Chandler and Jeriah Phillips; one great grandson, Baby Lucas Forrest.

Friends may call at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 1:30 p.m. until time of service.

The family would especially like to give a special acknowledgement to mom’s sister, Lil and John Jackson. We could not have made it without your love and support during the past month. We will be forever greatful.
