Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Mae Simmons will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 25, 2015 at the Montgomery Church of Christ, Montgomery, Louisiana with Bro. Mitchell Norman and Bro. Casey Clements officiating. Interment will be in Dry Prong Cemetery, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

The family request visitation be observed on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Montgomery Church of Christ beginning at 5:00 pm until time of service on Monday. Mrs. Simmons, age 72, of Montgomery, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 22, 2015 in Colfax Reunion Nursing Home, Colfax, Louisiana.
Mrs. Simmons was a member of Montgomery Church of Christ, owned K & L Enterprises, where she worked as a bookkeeper and tax preparer. She served her community as a member of the Montgomery town council for eight years and was a foster parent to several foster children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Jim Smith; two sons, Dewayne Simmons, Darren Simmons and wife Belinda; two brothers, Dub Smith and Smitty Smith; one sister Martha Ann McCollough.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 57 years, Kennith Simmons; two daughters, Darlene Vaughn (Mike) of Benton, La., and Karen Coolman (Tim) of Montgomery, La. Six grandchildren, Krystal Vaughn (Daniel Spangler), Jereme Vaughn of New Orleans, Nicholas Coolman (Laura Fletcher) of Houston, Tx, Tori Coolman, Lance Simmons, Braegan Randall (Austin) all of Montgomery, LA.; two great grandchildren Zachary Spangler and Priscilla Randall. One sister, Lena Jo McKenzie and one brother, Mike Smith (Floyce).

Pallbearers include Nicholas Coolman, Tori Coolman, Lance Simmons, Austin Randal, Michael Stanley and Kelvin Simmons. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Jones and Steve Carter.
Special thanks to her physicians, Medistar Home Health, Compassionate Care Hospice, staff of Colfax Reunion Nursing Center and the ladies of Montgomery Church of Christ.
