Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Gerald Jeffery “Jeff” Henagan, 54, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at his home in Pineville, Louisiana.

A native of the area and a graduate of Tioga High School, Jeff was a passionate and boisterous person who never met a stranger. He lived his life for his three children—Sarah, Emily and George—who he found the most pride in. A former standout athlete and walk-on pitcher for UL Lafayette, Jeff loved sports and enjoyed sharing his interests in sports with his son. He also was an avid fisherman whose favorite pastime was fishing with his friends and family.

Jeff was an extremely intelligent person and self-proclaimed history buff, who could recite historical facts as well as a world-renowned historian. A Christian, he was well versed in the Bible and practiced his faith daily. He didn’t shy away from sharing his beliefs with others. He made sure you were going to hear what he had to say.

A simultaneously strong-willed and loving person, Jeff lived with his whole heart; he never did anything halfway. He was a beloved son and brother who felt extremely honored to be a part of his immediate family’s lives. Jeff loved life and especially loved family gatherings and all the good food that went with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Jeff is survived by his three aforementioned children: Sarah Elizabeth Henagan, Emily Ann Henagan and George Kyle Henagan; by his parents Gerald Delaney Henagan and Mary Linda Henagan; and by his siblings Stewart Henagan and his wife Jamie, Chad Henagan and Melinda Henagan. He is also survived by countless cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
