Obituary for Harvey S. "Sandy" Murrell
Graveside services for Mr. Harvey “Sandy” Murrell will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, 85 Duncan Road, Pineville, Louisiana with Rev. Randy Murrell officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.
Mr. Murrell, age 75, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at The Oaks Nursing Facility in Pineville, Louisiana. He enjoyed working construction and worked at Walmart for ten years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Altha Murrell; daughter, Terry Lynn Murrell; four brothers; three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy Mills Murrell of Pineville, LA; four sons, Warren Knapp (Pauline) of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Toby Knapp of Pineville, Brent Murrell (Ann) of Mora, and Allan Murrell of Alexandria; one daughter, Shana Browning (Randy) of Prospect, two brothers, J.B. Murrell (Tina) of Montgomery and Clarence Murrell (Jan) of Napa, CA; three sisters, Dorothy Hattaway of Many, Elaine Futrell (Roy) of Tioga, and Doris Bartlett of Plaucheville; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Guardian Hospice and The Oaks Care Center for everything they have done.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
