A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Kathryn Thomas Cropley will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Fellowship Hall of Palestine Methodist Church, Ball, Louisiana with Rev. John Tellifero officiating, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mrs. Thomas-Cropley, age 56, of Ball, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 20, 2015 at her residence, following a lengthy illness.

Kathryn was a beautiful child; she was a bit mischievous. She was also referred to as Kathy or KT. She was affectionately called Sue-Sue by her dad. From a very young age, nursing was the career of choice. The knack to serve others was evident and immediately following graduation from Tioga High School, her never-ending nursing education commenced. Her working years included caring for all areas of care associated with the hospital. She worked at the Doctors Hospital, Rapides Regional Medical Center, Home Health and Dubois Hospital. The patient was always her primary concern. She was an excellent nurse. In 1976, Kathryn and her high school sweetheart, Robert Thomas were married. Jessica Leigh was born in 1981.

She was preceded in death by her parents, M.L. and Barbara Humphries; grandparents, Ryland and Myrtle Griffin; her daughter, Jessica Thomas Ayres.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Cropley of Ball; special mother, Enola Humphries of Hessmer; one son, Preston Cropley (Courtney) of Kolin; son-in-law, James Ayres of Ball; one daughter, Morgan Mathews (Wesley) of Pineville; one brother, Charles Humphries of St. Petersburg, Florida; one niece, Tiffany Humphries; two grandchildren, Lahna Mathews and Connor Mathews of Pineville.
