Obituary for Lester Sherwood Hawthorne Sr.
Rev. Hawthorne, age 78, of Ball, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, Louisiana.
Rev. Hawthorne’s final wish was to be cremated. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date and time.
He was a minister, it was the “Love of his Heart”; he was the Pastor for Bay Springs Baptist Church, Lakeside Baptist Church, Union Hill Baptist Church and Bayou DeGlaise Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and he was a master carpenter.
He is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Heather Marie Hawthorne; four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Wanda Elaine Waites Hawthorne of Ball; two sons, Lester Sherwood, Jr. of Ball and E. David Hawthorne (Renee) of Pineville; one brother, Danny Hawthorne (Meda) of Monroe; one sister, Faye Hood (Jimmy) of Pineville; one grandchild, Jason Allen Hawthorne; one great grandchild, Christopher Hawthorne; many nieces and nephews.
