David Kimsey officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Holliday was born on August 15, 1927 in Canton, Mississippi to Owen Clay Holliday and Annie Lee Holliday. He passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at The Oaks Care Center, Pineville, Louisiana.

He moved with his family to Central Louisiana as a young boy where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and served as a former Post Commander of George F. Simmons, Jr., American Legion Post 3 Louisiana. He retired from Bell South Corporation after a career spanning almost 40 years. As is true of many of his generation, he was hard working, independent, conservative and always looked forward to exploring new interest and hobbies. He enjoyed a long and busy retirement while pursuing many interests such as hunting, fishing, gardening, wood working, genealogy, traveling and camping. He was a member of Red River Rambler’s Camping Club for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James McDonald Holliday.

Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 58 years, Mrs. Dorothy Suba Holliday; one son, William Clay Holliday, Jr. and his wife Jan; grandchildren, Ashley Holliday, Greg Nolan and his wife Madeline and Lauren Holleman and her husband Troy; one great grandchild, Sutton Holleman; one sister, Frances Hyatt.

Friends may call at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of The Oaks Care Center for their understanding and support as Bill persevered against his declining health.
