A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Katherine “Kitty” Gallagher will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Alexandria, Louisiana with Fr. Dan O’Connor officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria National Cemetery, Pineville, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mrs. Gallagher, age 82, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 31, 2014 at the Oaks Care Center, Pineville, Louisiana.

She was a very generous person with a gifted spirit for everyone that knew her. She was funny, witty and also known by many for her 4th of July block parties; she was the faithful mom ringing the cowbell for all of her seven son’s football games. She was a loving military wife for many years, traveling the world with her family. Above all else she was a loving, faithful, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” Gallagher, Sr.; parents, William and Lillian Doherty; one daughter, Colleen Gallagher; two brothers, John and Jim Doherty; sister, Margaret Marie Gallagher.

She is survived by seven sons, Richard W. Gallagher, Jr. (Irma) of Bartlett, Tennessee, Kevin P. Gallagher (Pat) of Alexandria, Mike D. Gallagher (Loretta) of Alexandria, Keith Gallagher, Sr. (Debbie) of Bentley, Louisiana, Mark D. Gallagher (Kim) of Panama City Beach, Florida, Steven P. Gallagher (Penny) of Alexandria and Brian D. Gallagher (Cathy) of Panama City Beach, Florida; one brother, Luke Doherty of Vero Beach, Florida; one sister, Lillian McGuire of Vero Beach, Florida; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; also survived by many family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Keith Gallagher, Jr., Chris Gallagher, Kyle O’Quin, Sean Gallagher, Matthew Gallagher and Caleb Killough; honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Gallagher, Luke Gallagher, Alejandro Gallagher, Jason Gallagher and Kevin Gallagher, Jr.



A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

August 3, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Alexandria, Louisiana 10:30 A.M.
