Obituary for Rita G. Murrell

Funeral services for Mrs. Rita G. Murrell will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with the Reverends Dannie Odle and Josh Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mrs. Murrell, age 80, of Wylie, Texas, formerly of Grant Parish, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Wylie, Texas. She was born March 7, 1934 in Jena, Louisiana to William Oliver and Mamie Jewel King Smith.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son H. A. “Buddy” Murrell, III; grandson, Brent Murrell; four brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Murrell is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Herbert A. Murrell, Jr.; two daughters, Dianne Odle (Dannie) and Darlene Harlow; brother, Paul Smith (Alma); four grandchildren, Wendi Graves (Kevin), Jason Lumpkins (Courtney), Natasha Owens (David), Sharla Reynolds (Josh); eight great grandchildren; numerous other family members.

Friends may call at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
