Mr. Willis Cole, 86, entered eternal rest surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 6, 2022 in Alexandria in the Intensive Care Unit. Services for Mr. Cole will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Speer officiating. The visitation will be held on Saturday, from 9:00 a. m. until the time of service. Interment will follow the services in Bradford Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Mabou Cole; parents, Samuel Cole and Angeline Dodge Cole; son, Rickey Cole; grandson, Garrett Cole; and siblings, Sherfield Cole, Dora Yarborough, Lionel Cole, and Louella Matthews.
Those left to cherish his memory include daughter, Gayle George (John); son, Randy Cole (Rene’); daughter-in-law, Karen Cole; sisters, Ruth Mabou and Lois Juvrud (Jim); brother, Sam Cole, Jr; grandchildren, April Gill (Kory), Monica Daigrepont (Josh), Joseph Cole, David Cole, Matt George, Jimmy George; great grandchildren, Hannah Gill, Andrew Gill, Zachary Daigrepont, Mikahla Daigrepont and a host of extended family and friends.
Mr. Cole was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He believed in Jesus and couldn’t wait to be with his wife of 66 years in heaven. He worked hard his whole life in various industries. His first job was a dishwasher for the Hotel Bentley, he worked for Dr. Pepper as a technician, and was a Supervisor for Modular Mobile Home, but he worked with his own logging truck hauling wood of all sizes most of his adult life. Mr. Cole enjoyed playing the guitar and even played his guitar for George Jones and Jimmy Newman when they came to town. He liked growing a vegetable garden and mowing lawn.
