Obituary for William "Bill" Nugent
Mr. William “Bill” Curtis Nugent, age 68 of Lena, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at The Oaks Center.
Visitation for Bill will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Gallagher Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 10:00 am at Gallagher Funeral Home with Brothers Robert McLane and Wade Merrell officiating. Interment will follow at Cleveland Cemetery in Lena, Louisiana.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Brett Nugent, Kevin Nugent, Robert Phillips, Ryan Gordon, Cole Lee, and Josh Tillman. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Nugent, Scott Nugent, Craig Nugent, Jason Nugent, David Nugent, Kaden Lee, and Rylin Nugent.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Litton and Lucille Nugent; sister, Joanna Smith; and brothers, Litton Bryan Nugent and Jerry Nugent.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Gail Barham (Steve), Sharon Gordon, and Violet “Anola” Parker (Keith); brothers, Leavy Nugent (Judy), Steve Nugent (Mary), Lansing Nugent (Laura), and Dana Nugent (Kathy); sisters-in-law, Anna Nugent and Theresa Nugent; brother-in-law, Cecil Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Bill loved to farm, duck hunt and fish, especially taking his nephews fishing. He was a sports fan and liked to watch baseball and football. He was a history buff, having an amazing mind for history and dates. He also loved going to farm equipment auctions. He was a man that was always there for his family and anyone that needed any kind of help. He was a loving brother, son, uncle and friend and an inspirational role model to his nieces and nephews and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
