Obituary for Wiley Claiborne Whitstine
Mr. Wiley Claiborne Whitstine, age 70, of Dry Prong, passed from this life on Janurary 14, 2023 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
The Visitation for Mr. Wiley will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home. The service will begin at noon in the Chapel with Reverend Chris Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitstine Family Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and ALMARIE Whitstine, one son, Jeffery Whitstine, wife Hollie Whitstine and two brothers, Robert Whitstine and Earl David Whitstine.
Those left to cherish his memories are, his daughter Sirena Whitstine, and sons Jason Whitstine, and LaWayne Ross, three brothers, Charles Whitstine (Ida), Samuel “Buddy” Whitstine (JoNell), Dale Whitstine (Karen), three sisters, Nellie “Sissy” Rousseau, (Charlie), Shirley Klein(Gary), Darlene Delaney (Tim), numerous grandchildren.
In his young years, he loved his motorcycles, both dirt bikes and street bikes. He loved Street racing with his brother Earl in their Red Super Sport Chevs. He traded all that later for cross country trucking with his wife Hollie. Of course his Peterbuilt with the Cat engine was the fastest thing between Florida and California.
Wiley like us all had obstacles, weaknesses, and made fleshly mistakes. However he was quick to acknowledge his mistakes and always had a repenting heart. He would speak often about the mercies Jesus has shown him and prayed often.
