Obituary for Walter Lloyd Morgan

Walter Lloyd Morgan, 63, passed away surrounded by love and prayer on 10 May 2021. Walter is known to many in Pineville as the gardener, coffee drinker, and storyteller. He never met a stranger and never passed up the opportunity to tell a good tale.

Walter served in the United States Marine Corp from 1975 to 1977 as a food service specialist. After an honorable discharge he returned to his home of Pineville, LA where he enjoyed a successful career at McKesson until the company moved. Not one to sit still for long he went back to work at Hayes Manufacturing until the cancer no longer allowed him to work. Ever the fighter and not giving in to a diagnosis, Walter could always be found in the shop fixing something, in the garden growing something or in the yard with a bonfire and fireworks. He was a loyal family man and a neighbor that most people yearn for. He was witty to the end and his jokes will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

His memory lives on in the love of his life for 32 years, Donna Malone Morgan, three children Cheryl, Walter Jr (Kristen) and Marcus and granddaughter Juliette Morgan. He is also survived by his brother Gene (Connie) and sister Paulette (Bobby), and multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents Robert (1996) and Agalice (2002) Morgan and his sister Roxanne Morgan (2008).

A Memorial Service will be held at the home of Walter and Donna Morgan, 108 Morgan Rd, Pineville on 14 May 2021 at 12pm for family. Donna welcomes everyone who loved Walter to join her and their children in celebrating his life and sharing memories of him, at their home at 2pm following the service.
