Troy Guidry, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 17, 2022, after a brief illness with covid at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Norma Guidry.
Those remaining to continue his legacy of being a good friend are his sons, Tanner Guidry (Brooke), and Landon Guidry; daughter, Halie Dooley; granddaughter, Serenity; and his siblings, Skipper, Vanessa, and Heath; other relatives, and friends.
Troy was born on April 25, 1966, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to Floyd and Norma Guidry. He was their second son, joining older brother Skipper and followed by sister Vanessa and younger brother Heath. Troy and his family moved from Church Point to Pineville in 1975. Troy was a graduate of Tioga High School, and, while he retained his Cajun roots, he embraced all that Central Louisiana had to offer. He was an avid fisherman who loved exploring the lakes, rivers, and ponds in this area. His favorite place to be was on a boat. Troy embraced the sentiment of “joie de vivre” –the joy of life. He loved people and loved to laugh. Troy was the life of party and wanted everyone to have a good time. He would rather make memories with friends and family than have material possessions. He was always quick to lend a hand however he could. Troy was a gifted “Mr. Fix-it” and enjoyed figuring out the mechanics of things and understanding how they worked. He could repair vehicles, lay tile, work on an A/C unit, and the list goes on. He was quick to volunteer his abilities to help family and friends. Above all, his passion was spending time with his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
