Obituary for Thomas Joseph "Tommy" Fonseca
Memorial services for Thomas Joseph “Tommy” Fonseca will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 2:00PM with a Memorial visitation from 1:00 PM until service time at the Covenant Church Houma, 4863 W Park Avenue, Houma, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
A Memorial Balloon Release Celebration will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Walmart of Pineville parking lot on Monroe Highway in Pineville, Louisiana.
Thomas Joseph Fonseca, age 76, of Alexandria, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Tommy is his preceded in death by his parents, Elta and Nolan Fonseca; his brother, Michael Fonseca; and his sister, Elaine Fonseca.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Fonseca; his loving children, Alaina Thomassie, Brooks Minks, and Emma Odom (Randy); his 11 devoted grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; his caring siblings, Daniel Fonseca, Peggy Courteau, Sheryl Fonseca, Jane Carroll, Anthony Fonseca, and Darrel Fonseca (Ellen); numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A very hard worker, Tommy was a US Navy Veteran who was stationed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. An avid reader, Tommy liked to write poetry, play chess, watch you tube, and play with his puppies. Above all, he was a great Poppy whose passion was loving his grandchildren.
A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Tommy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, Louisiana, for medical expenses.
