Obituary for Thomas Earl Trawick, Sr.

Thomas Earl Trawick, Sr., age 74, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at his residence in Winnfield, surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial Services for Mr. Trawick will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Winnfield. Reverends Charles Malone and Dick DeBusk will officiate the services.

Big Tom was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Tom was born in Winnfield, Louisiana, July 14, 1946. He graduated from Winnfield High School in 1964, after playing football, basketball, and track. While playing football he would kickoff or kick extra points, which earned him the nickname "Toe". After graduation, he attended Louisiana Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Forestry. He became a procurement forester and started Trawick Timber Company, being successful and retiring in 2001.

Having always loved the country and outdoors, he and his family moved to the Bethlehem community. As a devout Christian he served at Bethlehem Baptist Church as a deacon and men's Sunday school teacher for 30 years. He loved slow pitch softball and played for the Rebels for many years, forming lifelong friendships.

He and Sissy were blessed with 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter that he loved dearly. He always attended every ballgame, as well as hunting and fishing trips with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Trawick and Fern DeBusk Trawick.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 52 years, Janet Garrett Trawick; son, Tom Trawick, Jr. (Kim) of Calvin; daughter, Dr. Gena Spangler (Todd) of Winnfield; sister, Ann Crooks (Jerry); grandchildren, Treyton Trawick, Eli Spangler, Cooper Spangler, Lauren Trawick, and Sean Lawe Spangler; and step-grandchildren, Payton Bates and Raleigh Guilliams; host of extended family and friends.

The family wishes to thank Legacy Hospice, Hannah Williams, R.N., Dan Dupree, R.N., and Tenisha Phillips, C.N.A. for the wonderful care they provided.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marshall Howell, Alton Powell, James Alford, Ricky Griffin, James Crooks, Junior Beauboeuf, Bob Wyatt, Mack Martin, Dylan Brunson, and Tom's Sunday School Class.
