Funeral services celebrating the life of Susan Rogers Degeyter will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Father Rick Gremillion officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Degeyter will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a rosary being recited at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Private family interment will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery # 2 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Mrs. Degeyter, age 63 of Pineville, Louisiana entered eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2020 at Rapides Medical Center, Alexandria, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen; and her son-in-law, Michael Stephen “Trey” Brown. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Daniel D. Degeyter; her daughters, Johanna Brown (William), Valerie Guillory (Kyle), and Stephanie Degeyter; her grandchildren, Dylan and Alexander Guillory; her parents Myra and Melvin Rogers; her siblings, Charlene Gresham (William “Bubba”), Mary Rogers, Melvin Rogers Jr., and Steve Rogers (Renee); and a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends. Susan, a spiritual lady and a devout Catholic, she was an elementary school teacher for more than 30 years. An accomplished artist and painter, she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Tioga and was the chaplain for Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to many destinations in the US. In accordance with COVID restrictions, the family is requesting that all attendees wear a mask and refrain from shaking hands and hugging.
