Obituary for Steven William Lloyd

Steve was born on March 8, 1948 in Portland, Oregon. He passed from time into
eternity in the wee hours of March 2 following a severe stroke. He was 72 years old,
and resided in Alexandria, Louisiana at the time of his death.

He was born to John Lloyd and Dolores (Cunningham) Lloyd was the oldest of 5
children. He was preceded in death by his father (2013) and mother (2002) and his wife
Marilyn (2016), and his sister Shari King (2012).

He is survived by his only daughter, Heidi Bryson of Keizer, Oregon. Sister Sandy Fink of Portland, OR, brother Kenneth Lloyd of Ramona, CA, and brother Keith Lloyd of Corbett, OR, granddaughter Chelsea,
grandson Brandon, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Steve attended Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland and graduated in 1966. He
majored in sheet metal classes.

He worked in that field for several years. He moved to
Oklahoma City, Ok in 1982. Later he moved to Mississippi where he worked
maintaining truck scales.

He moved to Louisiana where he met and married Marilyn
Bonnette, they were very involved in the Homewood Baptist church which he attended
until his was no longer able to leave his home.

His last job before retiring was a salesman for a cell phone company. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America where he earned many merit badges.

He tried very hard to become an Eagle Scout. While he was growing up he loved going
to Uncle Bill’s cabin on Crescent Lake. Most of all he loved fishing and was always glad
when they caught a few trout to fry over an open campfire. One time when he was very young he found a watermelon in the water, cooling, he picked it up to show it to mom, she told him to put it back so he tossed it back. Mom had to drive 20 miles to the
nearest town to get a new watermelon for the neighbors.

For the rest of his life Steve hated watermelon. Holidays were spent with aunts, uncles, and cousins in grandma and grandpa Cunningham’s home. He was always thankful for his many friends from church and for all the times they
helped him and visited him. He was a firm believer in the power of prayer .and was
always glad to pray for someone in need and would contact his friends on his prayer
list to join him in prayer.
