He was preceded in death by his parents, John Delrie and Geneva Goynes Delrie; brother, John Delrie, Jr.; and sister, Gellena Wyatt.

Bro. Sherman was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend. He retired from the Grant Parish Police jury after many years and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandchildren. His greatest joy in life outside of family was pastoring and prison ministry. He worked in jail ministry through Grant Parish Detention Center for more than 30 years and served as Pastor of the Prospect Pentecostal Church for over 15 years. Sherman loved pastoring and loved people. His greatest desire was that everyone come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He believed there was no height or depth that the love of God could not reach and no soul too lost for the rescuing arm of God. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.

Pallbearers honored to served include Steven Parker, Jason Watson, Garrett Parker, Trevor Parker, Austin Walker, David LaPrairie.
