Obituary for Sherman Glenn Charrier

Sherman Glenn Charrier, beloved son, and brother, passed peacefully on December 19, 2023, at the age of 62.

Sherman was born on January 31, 1961, to Evelyn and Jerry Charrier. He was a faithful servant of his God, Jehovah. He was baptized on June 11, 1992. He pioneered and was active in his ministry as frequently as he could, a real example of his immense strength, determination, and faith. Sherman would get up early in the morning and watch JW Broadcasting along with bird and squirrel watching.

Sherman could always be found outside in nature, his favorite place to be. Whether it be out in his garden, tending to his bird feeders, taking care of his herd of goats, or riding down the roads with his dog, Kandi, taking everything in and enjoying the sun.

He loved to play pranks and joke with everyone. Many of his pranks revolved around his brother, James. One of his favorite memories is their trip to Taco Bell. James recalls Sherman asking him “You Hungry? Let’s go to Taco Bell.” Once inside Sherman had James order after him and when it was time to pay the bill, Sherman was nowhere to be found. He was on the opposite side of the restaurant sitting at a table laughing. He’d left James behind to trick him into paying. That’s just one example of the many memories of the jokes he loved to play on people.

Sherman was an avid car enthusiast all his life. In his younger days, he rebuilt several cars, a 1982 Corvette and a 1972 Chevelle. He built these cars from the ground up, they were only shells, with the interior parts in bags. His pride and joy was the Chevelle, and he remembered driving with great fondness.

He had many qualities, his most admirable being his ability to make friends with everyone he met. Sherman never knew a stranger. He enjoyed talking to everyone and always made a point to check in on his neighbors and friends while out on his rides. He would get stopped wherever he went by someone he knew, and they would get lost in conversation.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Jerry Charrier.

He is survived by his loving mother, Evelyn Charrier, brother, James Charrier, countless aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and care givers, Pat Estes (30 years), Erlinda Garsaud (11 years), Melissa Mcevrs (2 years).

Memorial services for Sherman Charrier will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4925 Monroe Highway, Ball, Louisiana with Brother Nathan Hobbs officiating. With graveside services to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Monroe Highway, Ball Louisiana.
