Obituary for Ruth Maxine Lingenfelter

Ruth H. “Baby Ruth” Lingenfelter, age 92, passed away at her Tioga home on January 18, 2023. Both a lifetime native, and resident of Tioga, La, Ruth was a bookkeeper, with Ray’s Pest Control, with over 45 years of service. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Clyce D. Lingenfelter, of Tioga; a daughter, Debbie L. Carline, and husband (Bobby) Plaquemine; and one son Dale D. Lingenfelter and wife (Jill) of Pollock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry “Todd” and Margaret “Maggie” Vance Hollingsworth, a son; Bruce Lee Lingenfelter, one brother; H.C. Hollingsworth, and two sisters; Opal Mae Hudson, and Margaret “Slick” Palmer.

Her family was the joy of her life. She loved being the grandparent of seven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren, with one on the way. Serving her Savior, Jesus, and loving people through gospel music was such a huge part of her life. Ruth and Clyce met singing with different groups and after marrying, continued traveling and singing/ministering with their own family for over 30 years.

Visitation services will be at the Kingsville Baptist Church, Tuesday, January 24th with family viewing beginning at 9:00 am, then friends commencing at 10-12:00 am. The service will follow at 12:00 pm, with ministers, Bart Walker, and Bennie Hollingsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Palestine United Methodist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
