Obituary for "Rusty" Morris Sellers

Morris Lee "Rusty" Sellers passed away November 7, 2020 at the age of 67, at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Services for Mr. Sellers will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana. The visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of service. The burial will follow the service at Pinegrove Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

He was born December 8, 1952 in Fort Worth, Texas. Rusty is a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War in Thailand and Vietnam. He came back and was stationed at England Air Force Base. He served with the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Department as a deputy and retired in 2016 and currently worked at O'Reilley Auto Parts in Alexandria, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aldon Sellers and Helen Gomer Schluter; brother, Mike Sellers; step-father, O.J. Schluter and step-mother, Patricia Sellers.

Rusty met and fell in love with Ramona Ann Blair, and she swept his off his feet. They were married on March 26, 1977. He was an avid LSU fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking on his flat top and BBQ pit. He loved making people happy with his food. Rusty loved being on the giving end of a good prank, but loved a good prank on himself as well. Rusty was a cub scout, played the coronet in the junior high band and was a gymnast in high school.

Rusty is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Ramona Blair Sellers; sister, Melinda Sellers; sons, Michael and Robert "Bobby" Sellers; grandsons, Drake and Steele Sellers; step-granddaughters, Sasalee Whalen, sister-in-law, Linda Blair Arana; nieces and nephews, Christie Goudeaux, Philip Goudeaux (Taryn), Nicholas Arana, Jill Clark, Jake Morton, Andy Sellers, Holly Sellers; and great nieces and nephews, Juliet, Wyatt, Zachary, Haley, Logan, Austin, and Treyvor; great-great nephews, Zain and Finley; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Kevin Ryan, Jay Slayter, Greg McQueen, Jeremy Sharp, Nathan Cloud, and Brett Bolin. Honorary Pallbearers; Drake Sellers, Steele Sellers, Jacob Morton, Philip Goudeaux, and Nicholas Arana.
