Robert was born on September 13, 1939, to Samuel and Juanita Rambo in Georgetown, La. After he graduated from Georgetown High in 1957, he went on to college and then to serve two years during the Vietnam war as a veterinary tech in Maryland.

Robert went on to meet his soul mate and love of his life in New Orleans, La. Robert and Elaine shared six children, Richard, Christine, Sherrye, Kimberly, Ryan and Dana. In his younger years, he enjoyed rodeoing, training bird dogs, quail hunting, traveling and family filled weekends at his camp on Black River Lake.

In 2010, Robert retired from the oilfield after 40 years. He enjoyed being on the water, teaching his children to fish, swim, ski and hunt. He enjoyed date nights with his wife of 46 years, westerns, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. No man could have ever loved or been more loved than Robert. Anyone that knew him was touched by his quick wit, his crooked smile, his generous nature and the love he held for his family. Robert will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
