Obituary for Rhonda Kaye Bertrand
Mrs. Rhonda Kaye Bertrand, age 53 of Pineville, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Cabrini Hospital.
A memorial celebration will be held March 4, 2023 from 10:00-3:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Welsh, Louisiana.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her father, Warren "Brud" Bertrand; sister, Ramona Marie Bertrand; grandparents, Ida and Clyde Bertrand, Dora Bodle and Frederick Obenchain; great niece, Lyrik Tate; and brother, Ronnie Sonnier.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving wife, Margaret Nugent; daughters, Summer Knight (Richard Steele) and Elizabeth Cormier (John); son, Jesse Arriaga (Corinne); mother, Leora Bertrand Hebert; grandchildren, Liam and Kale Knight, Emma and Elida Arriaga, and Mia Cormier; sisters, Renee Bertrand, Renell Sonnier, Roxanne Bertrand McDaniel and Lynn Manley; brother, Bryant Bertrand (Elizabeth); in laws, Angela Calk, Cheryl "Popo" Cole, Ricky Nugent, Trina Nugent (Ollie), and Sonya "Jojo" Nugent; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers in law, other family and friends.
Rhonda was a very loving person and was always ready to help anyone in need. She left a lasting impact on anyone who met her and they could go to her without any fear of judgement, She was a successful Residential Draftsman in the Lake Charles area for most of her adult life and took great pride in her career. There was a lasting effect on any room that she entered; her beauty both inside and out was unmatched. Her family and friends were her world and there was nothing she enjoyed more that spending time with them and traveling to new places. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
