Obituary for RG Williams

RG Williams, age 84 of Pineville, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. He is now with Christ and surrounded by his family and friends who proceeded him in death. Per his wishes, a, Military Graveside service for RG Williams will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ball, Louisiana with Dr. David Brooks officiating.

RG was given the name RG, initials only, by his loving parents, Thomas J and Christina Miller Williams. RG grew up in a loving, Christian home with his siblings SJ, Thomas, Ronald, Donald, and Doris Dunn Williams.

Upon graduation from high school, RG enlisted in the military where he loved working in communications. After retirement, RG moved back to Pineville where he met his wife of 42 years, Ann West Williams. Together they attended Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria and always had several of their grandchildren with them. RG and Ann loved to celebrate Mardi Gras in one of the many local Krewes his wife Ann helped establish. You could also find them at their home away from home, Disney World; sometimes just the two of them, sometimes with their children and grandchildren. Whatever Ann wanted to do and wherever she wanted to go, RG would do with a smile and great sense of humor.

RG was an amazing father and step-father, though he was always thought of as a “bonus” father. His grandchildren were the light of his life and they lovingly referred to him as “GG”. If he and Ann didn’t have a grandchild at their house every day, they weren't happy.

RG is preceded in death by his parents; brothers SJ, Ronald, and Thomas Williams; and step-daughter Debbye West Johnson. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann West Williams of Pineville, Louisiana; sons Walter J. Williams of Seattle, Washington and Carl Travis Williams (Naomie) of La Conner, Washington; step-son Kerry West, Alexandria, La; step-daughter Tracy Liotta (Kyle), Pineville, La; sister Doris Dunn, Lake Charles; brother Donald Williams, Bryan, Texas; grandchildren Sammy G Williams; Parker, Paxton and Payne Liotta; Hobie and Kassidy Johnson; and Konner and Karli West. He is survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and great-grandchildren.
