Mr. Reuel Rannel Chelette, Jr., age 73, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his home in Verda.
The Visitation will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 at The Colfax Pentecostal Church from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Services will be held on Friday at the church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Setliff officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Verda under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Dustin Chelette, Harvey Thompson, Lee Jones, Jacob Glenn, Brandon McGlothlin, and Dustin Clifton. Honorary Pallbearers are David Peavey, Bobby Peavey, Ricky "Bobby" Warren, and Derrik Mclaren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuel Chelette, Sr. and Irma Chelette; sisters, Lois Corbitt, Nathaline Lewis, Mildred Jacobs, Christine Covington, and Faye Chelette; brother, Steve Chelette; infant son, Hardy; and great grandchild, Heavenly Prather.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Cynthia Jowers Chelette; daughters, Anita Glenn, Janie Cotten, and Jessica Chelette; brother, Thomas Chelette; sister, Dianne Ballard; grandchildren, Jacob Glenn, Terrence Stump, Destiny Glenn, Sierra Prather, Keirra Cotten, and William Chelette; great grandchildren, Sophia Winters, Scarlett Glenn, Stella Glenn, Carson Prather, Gavyn Prather, and Oaklyn Prather; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mr. Chelette was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He was a devout Christian, and an honest and generous man. Mr. Chelette was a proud Veteran of the US Army and an avid duck hunter. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Joan Brunson, for taking care of Reuel over the years and treating us all like family and niece, Alyson McGlothlin for being by Reuel's side throughout his life and in his last days.
