Obituary for Ray Belgard

James "Ray" Belgard left this earth for his heavenly home on March 25, 2022, at the age of 54. He was born to Edwin Ray and Brenda Sue (Paulk) Belgard July 27,1967.

He was a firefighter for the City of Pineville for 33 years and retired as Assistant Chief in June of 2020. He went on to serve as Chief of the Deville Fire Department; as a service to the community he loved.

Ray was a Christian who loved and served Jesus Christ. He will be remembered for so many things. He loved music, hunting, fishing, gardening and telling stories and jokes. He shared all of these things with countless people. His greatest love, next to God, was for family and friends. His three boys were the light of his life and that love spilled over onto his daughters-in-law and the beautiful grandchildren they brought to our family. He was our everything and will be so deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are Kathy, his wife of 31 years; three sons: Bobby Belgard (Brandi), Jacob Belgard (Jessie), and Dillon Belgard; five grandchildren, Charlie, Sterlin, Levi, Tatumn and Waylon (aka GlenBobRay); Father, Edwin Ray Belgard; Mother, Brenda Sue; Sister, Sheri Caletka (Rhett); two nephews, Hunter Stuckey (Shay) and Ashton Stuckey; two sister-in-laws, Diana Meyer and Lana Jo Knutson (Bart); and numerous Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins and Friends too numerous to count.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Sterlin and Willie Mae Belgard; maternal grandparents, J.C. and Poddie Paulk.

A visitation will be held at Holloway Baptist Church Thursday, March 31 from 5:00-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 1 at 10:00am.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Ronnie Newcomb, Glenn Belgard, Dean Nugent, Roy Nugent, Edward Belgard, and Kenneth Herrington. Honorary pallbearers include Hunter Stuckey and Ashton Stuckey.
