Obituary for Paula C. Baldridge

Paula C. Baldridge, 62, was born on July 20, 1959 in Jeanerette, LA to the union of Samuel William Baldridge and Kathylene Pearl McCarty. She was the 5th born of seven children, 5 brothers and 1 sister. Paula passed away Sunday, May 9th from injuries sustained in a car accident on her way home from church.
Whitehall United Pentecostal Church in Jena, LA will host the memorial service on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Visitation is from 10am till time of service at 1 pm. Bro. Clay Hutto, Bro. Mike Russell, and Rev. Joey Paul will officiate. Sylvia Paul, Lynette Reeves, Denise Morse, Nora Dee Bradford, Karla Lee, Candance Hutto, and Lois Ann will sing. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Baldridge, Keith Baldridge, David Baldridge, Tyler Baldridge, Dale Parrott, Joey Parrott, Gervis Parrott, and Jamie Potter.
Paula was a gifted singer, known for her beautiful and powerful voice. She spent most of her life going to church and served as song leader for many years at Tullos United Pentecostal and Whitehall United Pentecostal Church. Paula loved spending time with her family and friends. Her quick wit and laughter will be missed.
Paula was a devoted nurse for over 20 years. Most of her career was spent at Dubois Hospital in Alexandria. She also worked at Hardtner Medical Center in Olla, Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, and Caldwell Memorial in Columbia. Caring for others was what she did best.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers William “Bill” Baldridge, Sr. and Terry Baldridge, and niece Jackie Baldridge. She is survived by her brothers, Jerry Baldridge and wife Norma of Pleasant Hill, MO, Robert Baldridge and wife Kathy of Libuse, LA, Keith Baldridge of Olla, LA, and sister, Lois Ann Parrott and husband Gervis of Georgetown, LA, a host of nieces and nephews, and her beloved cats Grayson and Ebony.
