Obituary for Patsy Turner Baker Byrnes (Turner)

Funeral services celebrating the life of Patsy Turner Baker Byrnes will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, 105 Short Street, Jonesville, Louisiana with Reverend Stuart Sherman officiating. Services entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home, 3665 Monroe Highway, Ball, Louisiana. Interment will be at Sikeston City Cemetery, Sikeston, Missouri at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Mrs. Byrnes, age 87 of Ridgecrest, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at LaSalle General Hospital in Jena, Louisiana. Born in Sikeston, Missouri on January 21, 1933 to Floyd and Ella B Turner, she is preceded in death by her first husband of 33 years, William Sikes Baker Jr.; her second husband of 20 years, George Allen Burns; her son, William Sikes Baker III; her parents, Floyd and Ella B Turner; her brother, Jerry Turner. She is survived by her one son, Charles David Baker of Ridgecrest, Louisiana; her grandson, Nelson Hunter Baker (Kristen) of Humble, Texas; her granddaughter, Laci Baker of Nebo, Louisiana; one great granddaughter, Katlyn Baker; one sister, Joyce Ann Hagy of Sikeston, Missouri; special daughters-in-law, Irma Graham and Marsha Baker; numerous other family members and friends. Patsy was the former owner of Baker’s Book Bug in Ridgecrest, Louisiana and a former telephone operator in Sikeston, Missouri. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, and friend, Patsy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or a charitable organization of your choice.
