Obituary for Norma Sue Leger Watkins
A memorial service for Mrs. Norma Sue Leger Watkins will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilda Baptist Church in Boyce, LA, with Reverends Joey Rudisill and Charles Hutzler officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Norma Sue Leger Watkins was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to Roy Lee Barton and Vaudean Walters Barton on January 31, 1941, and passed away peacefully in her home in Boyce, Louisiana on July 19, 2022. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Vaudean Barton, her brother, Walter Roy Barton, and her sister, Myrna Barton Dunn.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Malcolm D Watkins of Boyce, LA; children, Michael Roy Leger (Kelley) of Lafayette, LA, Mark Steven Leger (Erica) of Pineville, LA, and Kevin Ray Leger (Sloan) of Dripping Springs, TX; grandchildren, Erin Leger, Caleb Leger, Emilee Leger, Averi Sandel (Collin), Sydney Leger, Kenna Leger, Hunter Leger, Jake Leger; and great granddaughter, Corynn White. She is also survived by three sisters, Flora Lee Ferguson, Donna Gayle Nigreville (Doug), and Connie Faye Barton, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A faithful mother, sister, and grandmother, Sue loved everyone with all her whole heart and always put everyone’s needs before her own. Her faith and trust in God were unwavering and she wanted everyone to know the joy of the Lord. She was ready and excited to meet her Lord and Savior and we are so thankful God showered His grace and peace upon her. Sue will forever be missed by those who loved and knew her.
